Everything you need for Casualty Simulation

Being ready for emergency is always important in any given setting. Training in basic emergency and first-aid can be crucial for military and official personnel or even civilian training in the neighborhood or factory.

Dealing with emergencies can be much more efficient if people are knowledgeable and properly trained to assist their co-workers, friends and family. Experts believe that while teaching basic first-aid, realism is very important. When people know what to expect, they can function better in time of need and one way to achieve realism is by using mannequins and make-up.

The Simulaids Basic Casualty Simulation Kit is the most economical way to get started in simulated injuries. Re-usable wounds and refillable accessories let you practice bandaging and splinting techniques repeatedly. It includes wounds such as compound fracture Tibia and 12 assorted stick-on lacerations and open fractures as well as coagulant makeup blood, casualty simulation wax, 2 wood tongue depressors and much more accessories.

The Multiple Casualty Simulation Kit is more versatile than the basic kit. This unit gives you more complex wounds for testing higher levels of skill in bandaging and patient care, while keeping initial expenditures low. The kit comes in a heavy duty plastic tool box with a lift out tray for your convenience.

The Answer to CPR Anxieties

Dealing with emergencies can be quite stressful, but the rescuer must be in complete focus. Using a defibrillator should help you save a life, not get in your way. I found it hard to believe when Phillips introduced a home defibrillator that is “easy to use” but when we examined the HeartStart FRx Defibrillator we discovered that saving a life can be very simple.

This AED delivers a highly effective defibrillation shock that is also gentle to the heart. SMART Analysis is a proven Philips technology for heart rhythm assessment. SMART ensures that FRx Defibrillator only shocks when it should. SMART Analysis automatically assesses the victim’s heart rhythm and is designed not to deliver a shock unless the rhythm is determined to be shockable — even if the shock button is pressed.

The AED also guides rescuers through CPR, easily activated by pressing the blue button. The AED features a built in voice prompts clearly instruct you during use which makes this a handy AED around the house or office. A defibrillator that can help you save a life, in those crucial minuets before the ambulance arrives

How to use a Kendrick Extrication Device

KED or the Kendrick Extrication Device, is an important tool that helps to remove a patient safely from a motor vehicle. The KED stabilizes the victim’s head, back, shoulders and torso while immobilizing the patient’s ability to move the head, neck or spine.
The Ferno K.E.D for example, is a versatile, improved means of immobilizing and extricating patients from auto accidents or confined spaces. The wrap-around design provides horizontal flexibility for easy application and vertical rigidity for support of the spine, neck, and head during extrication. The Ferno K.E.D immobilizes torso, head and neck, enabling prompt extrication while minimizing risks of further injury.

Another K.E.D is the time-proven design of the K.O.D.E. (Kendrick's Other Device For Extrication). This legendary, industry standard design encloses the torso and cervical spine in a rigid frame of multiple vertical battens, providing horizontal flexibility and vertical rigidity for maximum support during extrication.

Remember that using KED is a complicated procedure which requires training. The famous mnemonic which helps a rescuer ensure that the straps are secured in order is “My Baby Looks Hot Tonight” in the order of Middle, Bottom, Legs, Head and Top.
